Turbat bomb blast kills 4 policemen

At least  four policemen and wounded 16 others in Pakistan’s troubled southwestern province of Balochistan on Tuesday, police said.

The incident took place near the Turbat, more than 600 miles west of Quetta .“An  explosive device exploded near one of the trucks carrying police personnel, killing four of them,” senior local police official Farooq Faiz told .
“Police reinforcements were being sent to Turbat to provide security to an upcoming religious congregation,” he added.Two of the 16 injured officers were in a serious injures, he said.Police Officeal  confirmed the incident and casualties.

 security forces are f attacked in insurgency-plagued Balochistan, which borders Afghanistan and Iran and is one of the most sensitive areas of Pakistan.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack but the province suffers from Taliban attacks and is also a flashpoint for sectarian violence involving Sunni and Shia Muslims .

Olympics Tournament favourites Australian hockey team  sent Pakistan home after a victory 7-0 on Tuesday, and comfortably booking the world champions a spot in the Olympics Hockey Tournament semifinals. Their third win by five or more secured top spot in Pool A and a semifinal against Pool B runner-up Germany, the defending champion.  The world strongest  team  2-0 lead within six minutes of the start and stayed in control.
